What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic technique that uses a series of doctor-prescribed, doctor-planned sets of near-invisible aligner trays that are designed to fit specifically around your upper and lower teeth. Both Invisalign products (Invisalign and Invisalign Teen) are available at our Murrieta orthodontics office.
Invented in the 1990s, Invisalign has since been the treatment of choice for over 1 million patients including celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Katherine Heigl and even teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber! The aligners are made of an FDA approved, medical grade plastic that is easy to wear and convenient to remove when you are ready to eat, drink or clean your teeth.
Align Technology, the makers of Invisalign, developed an extremely precise, 3-Dimensional, digitally controlled software that allows the doctor to visualize the bite and to plan out the treatment electronically. An experienced doctor such as Dr. Andrew Chen from All Stars Murrieta Orthodontics can use Invisalign to produce excellent results that are indistinguishable from those treated with regular braces.
Each new aligner set applies minimal pressures allowing your teeth to move very precisely and little-by-little over a short period of time. An aligner set is worn about every two weeks, and similar to regular braces that place pressure on the teeth all the time, Invisalign should be worn for as close to full-time as possible. The average treatment time with Invisalign is about one year, ranging from about six months to a few years depending on the type of treatment involved, the severity of the bite and the dedication/co-operation from the patient.
Because Invisalign is fabricated by technicians and non-orthodontists, your doctor is essential in determining how your teeth will move in terms of speed, order, magnitude and direction. It is helpful to view successful Invisalign treatment as the result of advanced technique and training, and not a mere manufactured product, as the majority of positive success stories are from those receiving treatment from experienced Invisalign orthodontists
Is Invisalign right for me?
If you’re interested in getting a new smile without the use of metal, ceramic, or lingual braces, consider getting a consultation from Dr. Andrew Chen, a certified Invisalign Murrieta and Temecula Orthodontist.
There are some cases where Invisalign is actually a better and more efficient treatment option than regular braces. The cost, timing and treatment steps can be explained to you while financing options can often make your dream a reality.
Invisalign is the treatment of choice for those people who had failed to wear their retainers/lost them and they want to get their teeth straight again. And Invisalign can now do more than ever before. Basic treatments involve resolving generalized crowding and spacing. Advanced practitioners can use Invisalign to assist in treating deep bites, open bites, crossbites, lower incisor extraction and bicuspid extraction cases, as well as overbite, underbite and presurgical orthodontic cases.
Invisalign is the most successful when the patient is dedicated to the 20-22 hours of daily wear required to move the teeth precisely and predictably. If you can follow the instructions as directed by Dr. Andrew Chen, you may be a candidate for this revolutionary alternative to braces!
Why is All Stars Orthodontics the best choice for my Invisalign care?
The answer is Knowledge and Experience. While most orthodontists focus their attention to the treatment of children, many have limited training or knowledge of adult treatment and are slow to embrace new technologies. Adult treatment requires a higher level of planning than with children, as over the years, adults can experience significantly more wear-and-tear on their teeth, the gums and the TMJ. Dr. Andrew Chen is an experienced Invisalign California Provider and owns a downtown practice where 80% of his clientele are Invisalign patients. This high number of patients allows Dr. Chen to consistently deliver predictable and uncompromising Invisalign smiles.
Dr. Chen holds a Master’s Degree in Orthodontics and is one of a handful of orthodontists who has received additional specialized training in Invisalign, as well as Behind-the-teeth Braces, Adult Orthodontics, Wilckodontics (Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics), TMJ management and Periodontal management as it relates to orthodontic care.
